Wrocław Startup Codaro Builds Control Layer for AI Coding Agents

Polish startup Codaro has built a three-layer infrastructure meant to let financial and industrial companies safely use AI coding agents without losing control over data or accountability for decisions.

A Polish startup, Codaro, has unveiled a system designed to answer one of the most frequently asked questions among companies deploying AI coding agents: what happens when such an agent gets it wrong. Rather than building another code-generation tool, the team created a layer of oversight, auditing and accountability that can be placed on top of coding agents already in use.
Codaro's idea stems from a simple observation: AI coding agents are becoming increasingly autonomous, but companies in regulated industries cannot afford to hand them full control over repositories without a trace of who did what and why. The system is meant to ensure that every change generated by an agent goes through independent verification before it reaches production.
How the system works
The first layer consists of the coding agents themselves, which create and modify software in the client's repository. The second layer is an independent audit that checks the generated changes for security vulnerabilities, dependency issues between packages, and logical risks in the code before a change is approved. The third layer is accountability: a cryptographically linked chain of records that logs timestamps, the model used, the exact prompt, the actions performed and the outcome.
This design is meant to give companies answers to the questions that come up most often in regulated industries when adopting automation: where the data goes, exactly how a given piece of code was produced, and who ultimately bears responsibility for how it behaves.

Business model and backing
Codaro offers several deployment options: simple plugin integrations, European endpoints, dedicated environments for teams, and on-premise installations for clients who don't want their data leaving their own infrastructure. For larger teams, the company offers predictable monthly billing instead of pay-per-use, which is meant to make budgeting easier for enterprise organizations.
The startup is also betting on open and open-source language models of European origin, which the team says makes it easier for clients to meet data localization and regulatory compliance requirements. Michał Zieliński, who is responsible for strategy and business development, describes the company's ambition as building infrastructure that scales from simple integrations, through European environments, to full on-premise deployments.
Live test in Warsaw
Codaro's infrastructure was tested publicly on August 20, 2026 during the second edition of the Codaro Coding Challenge, held at Google for Startups Campus Warsaw. The event brought together 12 teams, roughly 60 participants in total, who tested the platform on practical coding tasks involving AI agents.
This kind of live testing format matters both for image and product reasons: the startup is showing working infrastructure in action rather than sticking to slide presentations, which in the developer-tools segment can be a sales argument in itself.
Significance for the Polish market
Codaro fits into a broader trend: coding agents are being adopted by companies at an ever faster pace, but along with them come growing questions about software supply chain security, compliance with the EU's AI Act, and responsibility for machine-generated errors. Polish and European companies in the financial or industrial sectors, which must report compliance with NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act, need tools that give them proof rather than just a declaration that the process is being supervised.
Backing from Google for Startups, OVHcloud and ElevenLabs shows that the startup has managed to attract interest from both major cloud platforms and the local AI ecosystem, which in practice means access to the computing infrastructure and network of contacts needed to scale beyond Poland.
The company says it already has paying customers, though it has not publicly disclosed their number or names. This is a typical stage for b2b infrastructure startups, which build references among a narrow group of enterprise clients before communicating results more broadly.
