Glow Emerges From Stealth at $1.2 Billion Valuation

Founded by former Meta and Snowflake executives, startup Glow has revealed it raised $180 million at a $1.2 billion valuation, offering protection for corporate computers against risky AI agents and developer tools.

Cybersecurity startup Glow has emerged from stealth mode, announcing a $180 million Series A round and a $1.2 billion valuation. The company, founded by former Meta and Snowflake executives, says traditional endpoint security can't keep pace with the wave of AI agents and developer tools now installing themselves on employee computers.

Glow is led by Roi Tiger, a former VP of Engineering at Meta. He co-founded the company with Omer Singer, formerly head of cybersecurity strategy at Snowflake, Ophir Arie, a former VP of R&D at Claroty, and Arnon Joseph, previously an engineering lead at Meta. The team was also joined by Emily Heath, former chief information security officer at United Airlines and Docusign and a Wiz board member, who took on the role of chief strategy officer.

What the product does

Glow's platform is designed to monitor and control the software, AI agents and developer tools running on employee devices. To do this, the company built its own AI agents that map the corporate environment, assess risk in real time and automatically enforce security policies.

The key difference from competitors, the company says, lies in its approach to threats. Existing endpoint detection and response products focus mainly on catching threats that have already appeared, whereas Glow aims to stop risky software, AI agents and developer tools from entering a company's environment before they can act at all.

Anthropic and Google instead of an in-house model

Rather than building its own large language model, Glow built its agents on top of Anthropic's and Google's Gemini models, accessed through Amazon Bedrock, adding its own software layer that feeds the models corporate-environment context and improves their reliability on security tasks. This approach is typical of a new wave of security startups that, instead of training models from scratch, build a specialized layer on top of ready-made systems from major providers.

The company says its system has already blocked the installation of malicious npm packages, detected AI agents attempting to download such components, and identified devices operating without EDR protection or with limited EDR functionality. Typical deployments span tens of thousands of employee devices across global organizations, though Glow does not disclose customer names or exact numbers.

A market dominated by CrowdStrike

The endpoint security market has for years been controlled by CrowdStrike, Microsoft, SentinelOne and Palo Alto Networks. Glow positions itself as a prevention-focused alternative rather than a tool for detecting incidents already underway, aiming to address the speed at which AI agents can operate on employee devices without oversight from security teams.

The funding will primarily go toward expansion in the US market and toward Glow Labs, the company's internal research team studying emerging AI-related threats on employee computers.

Why this matters for businesses

Glow's debut fits into a broader trend in which coding agents and AI tools are landing on corporate computers faster than security teams can keep up with overseeing them. Similar concerns have previously been raised by researchers pointing to vulnerabilities in AI coding agents and by advisory firms warning about a growing number of incidents caused by AI-generated code. For Polish companies using foreign developer tools and AI agents, this means the endpoint security category will keep transforming rapidly in the coming months, and choosing a security vendor will need to account not just for classic malware but also for the risks posed by autonomous agents.
