Nvidia and Norrsken to open Stockholm AI Lab for health and climate startups

Nvidia, as founding technology partner, and the Swedish foundation Norrsken will open a hub for European AI founders in central Stockholm in 2027. The size of the investment has not been disclosed.
Nvidia and the Norrsken Foundation have announced Stockholm AI Lab, a hub in central Stockholm for European founders who use artificial intelligence in climate, health, food and social problems. It is scheduled to open in 2027, and founders can already apply for membership.
What is coming to Stockholm
According to Euronews and The Next Web, a select group of startups will work alongside Nvidia staff, since the building will also house the company's Stockholm office. The lab is to offer private offices, a lounge for members and a series of events connecting founders with investors, researchers, industry representatives and policymakers.
The hub is located in a 1910 building at Birger Jarlsgatan 37. Members are expected to use both the new space and Norrsken House Stockholm, the foundation's first hub and global headquarters, as well as Norrsken's wider network.
Nvidia's role
Nvidia is the founding technology partner. Besides its office, it will provide computing power, developer tools for robotics, simulation and life sciences, and access to Inception, its programme for startups.
According to Euronews, Nvidia will contribute computing infrastructure, software tools and connections to its international startup network. The partners did not say how much money is going into the project, what equipment will be installed, how much computing capacity members will receive or what they will pay to use it.
The demo lab
On the ground floor, Nvidia and Root Bio will run a demo lab. Root Bio is a Norrsken portfolio company that uses AI to design molecules for biological applications, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The demo is meant to show how AI can automate biological discovery.
The partners plan to pick further demo partners in robotics, climate, health and manufacturing.
Who can join
What these founders need now is what every great movement needs: a place. - Niklas Adalberth, Klarna co-founder and founder of Norrsken
According to The Next Web, the lab will host a select group of European founders who use AI to address problems in climate, health, food and society. Founders can already apply for membership.
The wider context
Euronews notes that in September 2025 Nvidia announced a robotics research and development hub in the UK, and in June 2025 new or expanded AI technology centres in Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland, Sweden and the UK. The Next Web adds that earlier this week Jensen Huang said Nvidia would put a further $2bn into European AI companies.
For Polish startups, it is a signal that Nvidia is building physical access points to its ecosystem in Europe. The lab is aimed at European founders, but the cost of using its computing power is not yet known.
