Polish broker XTB has introduced an AI-powered chat feature in its mobile app that answers questions about markets and analyzes clients' investment portfolios. The feature has launched only in Chile so far, with no date given for a Polish rollout.

XTB, a broker listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and operating in dozens of countries, has launched an AI-powered analytical chat feature in its mobile app. The tool answers questions about financial markets and analyzes a user's investment portfolio, taking into account their experience, stated risk tolerance and capital management style.

What the new assistant does

The new tool differs from the AI features XTB had previously introduced. Rather than just gauging media sentiment around listed companies, the chat holds a conversation with the investor, explains market conditions and speaks directly to their active positions. The system factors in the investment profile the client has declared, so responses are meant to look different for a beginner investor than for someone with years of experience.

The company stresses that final investment decisions remain in users' hands and that the assistant is informational rather than advisory in nature. XTB has not disclosed how many people in Chile currently have access to the feature or when the testing phase will end.

Why Chile

Choosing Chile as the first market fits XTB's strategy of testing new solutions outside Europe before bringing them to the more heavily regulated markets of the European Union. The broker says this lets it roll out innovations faster where regulatory requirements for AI-assisted investment advice are less strict than in the EU, where further AI Act rules take effect on August 2.

XTB chief executive Omar Arnaout links the new tool to a barrier facing new investors.

Another step in the broker's AI strategy

This is not XTB's first foray into artificial intelligence. The broker had earlier introduced a module analyzing media sentiment around listed companies, which processes thousands of online articles using natural language processing and shows investors up to three positive and three negative arguments about a given company. That feature is already active in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Romania, Germany, Spain, Italy and Chile, with daily updates for the 300 largest companies.

The new analytical chat goes a step further: instead of focusing on a single company, it addresses a client's entire portfolio and lets users ask natural-language questions about any financial instrument the broker offers.

What it means for Polish investors

For XTB clients in Poland, where the broker has one of the largest retail investor bases in the region, the feature remains unavailable for now. The fact that the company has not even given an approximate timeline for a European rollout suggests it first wants to assess how the assistant performs outside the EU's regulatory regime, where tools supporting investment decisions face additional transparency requirements.

Brokerages are increasingly turning to AI as a way to ease the load on call centers and boost customer engagement within their apps, but rollouts like XTB's also show that financial firms prefer to test new AI tools in markets with lighter regulation before offering them to clients in the European Union.
