Superbet Deploys Mindway AI to Detect Gambling Addiction

Super Technologies, the company behind the Superbet betting brand, announced a partnership with Danish company Mindway AI on September 8, 2026. The operator's platforms will deploy GameScanner, a system that uses artificial intelligence to detect early signs of gambling addiction before serious harm occurs to the player.

The GameScanner system combines elements of neuroscience, machine learning, and assessments by addiction experts. It analyzes player behavior patterns in real time and flags signals that statistically precede the development of a gambling problem, such as systematically increasing stakes or so-called loss chasing, attempts to recoup losses through further, increasingly larger bets.

How Risk Detection Works

Instead of waiting for a player to report a problem themselves or for the operator to notice after the fact, the algorithm assesses accounts on an ongoing basis and assigns them a risk level. When the system detects a pattern typical of a developing addiction, the account is flagged for review by the responsible gaming team, which can limit betting limits, send a warning, or temporarily block access to betting.

Super Technologies describes this approach as a shift from reactive support to proactive prevention. Under the previous model, gambling operators typically responded only after a problem was reported by the player themselves, their family, or following a regulator's intervention. The predictive model is meant to catch risk signals earlier, before financial or psychological harm becomes serious.

Six Markets, One Technology

The GameScanner rollout will cover all of Super Technologies' key markets: Brazil, Belgium, Romania, Poland, Greece and Serbia. It's a diverse group of countries in terms of gambling regulation, ranging from markets with extensive regulatory oversight in Western Europe to emerging markets in South America, where legal online gambling is still developing.

For Poland, the rollout carries practical significance, as the domestic online sports betting market is growing, and so is the number of reported addiction cases linked to gambling apps accessible on smartphones. Early risk-detection systems, until now applied mostly on a limited basis by individual casinos or Scandinavian operators, are starting to reach large, multi-market platforms.

Regulatory and Reputational Pressure

Super Technologies' decision fits into a broader trend in the gambling industry, where regulators in successive European countries are pushing operators to actively monitor players for signs of addiction, rather than merely offering self-exclusion tools on request. Companies that fail to invest in such systems risk fines and loss of licenses, and increasingly, public criticism as well.

Mindway AI, the company behind GameScanner, has spent years developing its solution in the Scandinavian market, where responsible gambling regulations are among the strictest in the world. Earlier deployments included Swedish operator ATG and Belgian operator Gaming1, whose integration was completed a week before the deal with Super Technologies was announced.

Technical details of the rollout, including the launch schedule for individual markets, are expected to be presented by both companies at industry events this fall, including the SBC Summit in Lisbon in late September, where a panel on player protection is planned.

For Superbet users in Poland, the change will be largely invisible in daily use unless the system detects a concerning behavior pattern. In that case, a player might expect a message about reduced limits or contact from the responsible gaming team, before they have a chance to report the problem themselves.
